Weslo CardioStride 3.0 Treadmill Review

Last updated June 1, 2021 By Kate Leave a Comment

The Weslo CardioStride 3.0 is a great piece of home exercise equipment.

At a very affordable price, it is sturdy enough to provide a decent workout, and it is perfect for limited spaces as it can be folded and stored easily.

However, it has some drawbacks such as a bumpy track and an uncomfortable incline.

Features

SpaceSaver Designweslo cardiostride folding treadmill

I can make the most of my limited workout space with the Weslo CardioStride 3.0. When not in use, I can easily fold the deck and store it vertically in one corner. It has no wheels but it weighs just 60 lbs. so moving it around is still convenient.

Incline

Manual treadmills push me more than electric ones because I need to exert extra effort to propel theย belt.

The Weslo CardioStride 3.0 provides further resistance with its fixed incline of 15%. However this incline might be too much for some users.

Itโ€™s supposed to decrease the amount of stress on your joints, but I feel no difference with this incline. It just feels harder to run.

Easy-to-Read LCD

I can track my progress through the LCD screen.

It displays speed, time, distance, and calories burned. The screen is powered by 2 AA batteries.

Design And Specifications

The Weslo CardioStride 3.0 is a light and compact manual treadmill which measures 46L x 23.23W x 48.5H inches. It has an average weight capacity of 250 lbs.

It has a powder coated steel frame which means that itโ€™s sturdy enough to take whatever you want to throw at it.

I am also very particular with the hand grips of manual treadmills.

They need to be extra comfortable because I rest a lot of my weight on them, and constantly use them for balance. The hand grips of the Weslo CardioStride 3.0 are stable and covered with foam, which means that theyโ€™re perfect for me.

One of the letdowns of this treadmill is its tread belt.

Aside from limited space of 17 x 41 inches, it does not have cushioning so the impact with every step is strongly felt. In addition, it does not run very smoothly despite regular maintenance.

It comes with 90-day warranty for parts and labor, which is acceptable considering its price.

F.A.Q.

Is it manual or electric?

It works manually and is not motor-powered.

What is the maximum speed that I can go on it?

None. It is self-propelled so the user controls how fast the tread runs.

Can I run on it?

Yes but it will take more effort than on a regular electric treadmill.

weslo cardiostride inclineDoes the belt run smoothly?

The belt does not run very smoothly. It stops abruptly at times which makes it difficult to maintain a constant stride.

I then have to exert extra effort to get the tread belt to run again.

Is the incline adjustable?

No. It has a fixed incline of 15%.

Can it be stored under a bed?

No. It sits at an angle when folded and the handles extend upward. It would be too high to fit under a bed.

Other Options

It can be difficult to find a cheaper and better alternative to the Weslo CardioStride 3.0. However, the Best Choice Products Manual Folding Treadmill is a possible option. It costs just a bit more but the belt works better.

Another manual treadmill which you should consider is the Confidence Fitness Magnetic Manual Treadmill. For only $50 more, you can enjoy a quiet and smooth magnetic resistance with 8 adjustable levels, that provide multiple optionsย for a challenging workout.

We also have a list of great affordable treadmills with plenty of alternative options.

Weslo CardioStride 3.0 Treadmill: Conclusion

The Weslo CardioStride 3.0 is an affordable treadmill which can easily fit into small spaces. Its manual operation and 15% incline provide a challenging workout.

However, the same manual operation also contributes to its lack of smooth operation. Some also find its non-adjustable incline too steep. Overall, it still serves its function and is a good entry-level manual treadmill to consider.
