Features
Built-in Workouts
20 workout programs are built into the system.
These programs are designed by certified personal trainers so I can be sure that they address my specific fitness goals such as calorie burn and endurance-building.
Additional programs can also be tailored for me through the iFit app.
iFit Technology Compatible
The NordicTrack T 6.5 S is compatible with iFit Technology which enables me to access their vast collection of workouts or have some specifically-designed for me.
You get these in addition to the 20 workouts pre-programmed in the equipment.
It can also be integrated with Google Maps. You can select a route and it will be simulated through automatic deck and incline adjustment.
However, you need to purchase it separately and pay an annual subscription fee of $99.
Flexible Cushioning
I specifically like this feature because it allows me to โexperienceโ different environments without having to step out of the house.
I select Flex-Select Cushioning for a more comfortable deck which helps reduce impact on the joints. If I feel more like running on the road, I choose a firmer deck.
Incline
It raises to a maximum of 10% with a single button press. I love that it does not have to be done manually. However, I prefer it to be a bit higher so it is more challenging and beneficial.
Others
- EasyLift™ Assist uses hydraulic shock for easy folding and storage.
- SpaceSaverยฎ Design makes it ideal for limited workout areas.
- 5-inch backlit LCD displays speed, time, distance, heart rate, and calories burned. With iFit, these stats are analyzed to personalize workouts for me.
- CardioGrip Heart Rate Sensors built into handles.
- Incline and speed adjustments can be done with one-touch controls.
- It has ports compatible with iPod or mp3 players so I can workout while my favorite tracks are playing in the background. There are also built in speakers.

F.A.Q.
How easy is it to assemble?
Assembly is pretty easy. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. This machine is quite heavy so it is ideal to have 2 people set it up.
Is it foldable?
Yes. Despite its weight, itโs easy to fold because of the EasyLift™ Assist feature which uses a hydraulic shock for easy folding and storage.
Does it incline?
Yes. It has a maximum incline of 10%.
Is there a place where a book or iPad can be placed?
Yes. There is a shelf where a book or an iPad can sit. However, it will partially block a part of the display so it might be a bit inconvenient.
Does it run quietly?
Some noise comes from the motor but it is not really loud.
How does it monitor heart rate?
Heart rate is monitored through sensors located on the handgrips. Accurate reading may be difficult to achieve while running or jogging.
Do I need to subscribe to iFit to maximize use of this treadmill?
Not really. It has enough built-in programs and features which can provide challenging workouts and effective results.
Other Options
For a little over $200 more, there is the ProForm Pro 1000 to consider. It is also iFit-compatible, runs on a more powerful 3.0 CHP Drive System, and has 22 workout programs.
On the other hand, a more affordable alternative with comparable features is the ProForm Performance 300i Treadmill which almost made it onto our top treadmills under 500 list.
NordicTrack T 6.5 S Treadmill: Conclusion
The NordicTrack T 6.5 S is a premium treadmill thatย has smart features such as flexible cushioning and iFit technology.
It is ideal for people who are bored with just running on plain home exercise equipment.
While people may have experienced letdowns such as an inconsistently moving belt or short motor life, this treadmill is still worth the investment.
