Ironman IFT 1000 Infrared Therapy Inversion Table Review

Last updated July 28, 2021 By Kate Leave a Comment

Ironman IFT1000 Inversion Table ReviewMany of us live a busy, stressful life.

And anything that can relieve us of some pain and tension, even temporarily, is a blessing.

That is why inversion tables have become so popular.

IF you haven’t tried one, you’re in for a treat.

A table like the Ironman IFT 1000 allows you to relax, de-stress and relieve back pain and other aches.

And it does this even better than most, due to infrared heating, which ads an additional element of soothing pain relief.

Given its high-quality materials, solid construction, safety and comfort features, and ultra-relaxing infrared heat therapy capability, you might expect this inversion table to be prohibitively expensive.

But it is actually surprisingly affordable.

Let’s take a closer look and see if it might be right for you.

Features

Far Infrared Ray (F.I.R.) Heat Therapy

As if the benefits of inversion therapy are not enough, the Ironman IFT 1000 boosts your relaxation experience with its Far Infrared Ray (F.I.R.) Heat Therapy.

ironman-ift-1000-infrared-heat-therapyThe backrest has built-in carbon fiber heating elements that give off a natural and gentle heat. The result? Relief for your tired, stressed back. Although it is not a permanent cure, it is definitely very soothing.

It also has an LED display and remote control for turning the heat therapy on and adjusting time and temperature.

However, one downside is the location of the LED display. It is placed on the back side of the table so you cannot see it while inverting.

Although some people complain that the heater stops working just a few months after purchasing the table, these are isolated cases and a greater number still get to enjoy a totally functional product for years.

Secure Ankle Cushions

You will feel very safe while inverting in the Ironman IFT 1000.

The cushions hold your ankles securely. I prefer the ones that snugly fit my ankles but these roller-type cushions are comfortable enough and help prevent ankle injuries from the inversion table.

Inversion Angle Controlironman-ift-1000-inversion-angle-control

You can control the maximum angle of inversion by adjusting the tether strap located underneath the table.

There are no settings to mark specific degrees. The length of the strap dictates how far you can go. For maximum inversion, adjust it to its longest setting.

Others

  • The foam covered handles help you go back to the upright position.
  • The sides where the backrest, the frame, and the handles meet have safety vinyl covers. It has a mesh pocket where you can place the remote control and other personal items.

Design And Specifications

The Ironman IFT 1000 measures 49 x 25 x 62 inches (L x W x H) and weighs 50 lbs.

ironman-ift-1000-1-inch-foam-backrestWhile it can be folded, it is quite bulky and heavy so it can be difficult to move around.

Its backrest is made of 1 inch-thick foam, just right for you to feel the heat that can go up to a maximum of 140 degrees.

You can also set the timer from 0-60 minutes.

It is adjustable to accommodate users from 4’9″ to 6’6″ tall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it easy to set-up?

You can set it up in an hour. While the instructions are a bit confusing, the diagrams are quite helpful.

What are the benefits of infrared heat therapy to the back?

Infrared heat therapy has many health and therapeutic benefits. The heat soothes the back and provides brief relief from minor muscle pains. When combined with inversion therapy, it results in increased blood circulation, reduced back fatigue and overall stress levels.

Is the table safe considering that it uses heat?

Absolutely. The Ironman IFT 1000 is ETL/CETL Certified which means that it complies to North American electrical, gas, and other safety standards.

It also means that its manufacturer has been audited and has agreed to follow-up inspections to ensure continued conformity to the said standards. That said, all inversion tables have pros and cons.

Does it fold for easy storage?

ironman-ift-1000-ankle-cushionsYes. However, it is big and heavy so unless you have very limited space, I suggest you keep it assembled in a dedicated area.

What is the user weight capacity?

The maximum user weight is 300 lbs.

Do I need to wear special shoes or boots?

Wearing boots is not necessary because the ankle holders are comfortable.

Other Options

If you want the benefits of heat therapy but you find the Ironman IFT 1000 expensive, you can also consider the Innova ITX9700.

It has a padded, removable head pillow and a lumbar pad for additional lower back support. You can also soothe your lower back using a hot/cold compress with the lumbar pad.

Instead of a tether strap, it has a 4-position side inversion pin for controlling the degree of inversion.
