Ironman Gravity 4000 Review

Last updated June 2, 2021 By Kate Leave a Comment

Ironman Gravity 4000 inversion table reviewWhile there are conflicting views on the effectiveness of inversion therapy, I am a firm believer in the benefits.

After several years of contemplating, I finally got myself an Ironman Gravity 4000, and I am so glad I did.

It’s a simple piece of equipment that is easy to assemble, safe, comfortable, and effective.

Best of all, it is nearly half the price of most similar inversion tables on the market!

Sure, there are better options out there, but I don’t think you’ll find one that gives you as many functions and the same level of quality for such an affordable price.

Key Features

Everyone with back problems wants to minimize bending over as much as possible.

The Ironman Gravity 4000 has a long handle with a palm-activated ratchet. It enables you to lock your ankles without having to bend or pull yourself too much.

However, you can expect your feet ย to slide off the footrest when you are inverted. Don’t worry because the ankle supports are strong enough to keep you safe.

Strong Construction

Given its affordability, the durable materials and strong construction of the Ironman Gravity 4000 are remarkable.

It has an extra wide frame that gives the table additional weight for support.

The feet are reinforced with non-skid rubber for that much-needed stability during inversion.

Safety And Comfort

The makers of Ironman Gravity 4000 made sure that the table is safe and comfortable.ironman-gravity-4000-memory-foam-backrest

  • It has a tether strap that you can easily adjust to control the maximum angle of inversion.
  • The sides are covered with vinyl to protect your hands and fingers.
  • Its backrest is made of 2-inch multi-layer Memory foam. This firm but relaxing backrest is covered with water-resistant vinyl so I don’t have to worry about sweating while undergoing inversion therapy.
  • There is also a removable lumbar pillow to provide additional support for your lower back.
  • It has nice foam-covered handles. I like that they are extra-long so I can easily return to the upright position.

Design And Specifications

The Ironman Gravity 4000 weighs 75 lbs. but can accommodate users up to 350 lbs.

It measures 49 x 26 x 65 inches (L x W x H) when assembled.

The table’s height can be adjusted from 4’9″to 6’6″. I find that extending it to two inches more than my height makes the table more balanced.

The Memory foam backrest is 2.5 inches thick. It stays firm and does not deflate despite frequent use.

You can start at different angles but the table can invert up to 180 degrees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it easy to set-up?

Yes. I was able to assemble it in less than 30 minutes.

Does it fold for easy storage?

Yes. However, it is bulky and does not get completely flat. It is also heavy so if you have ample space, you can just leave it assembled.

Can the height be adjusted?

Yes. You can set the table from 4’9″ and extend it to 6’6″.

What is the weight limit?

The table can withstand a maximum user weight of 350 lbs.

Can the degree of inversion be locked?

No. You just manually set the maximum inversion by adjusting the tether strap. A shorter strap will mean smaller inversion while a longer strap will create a more acute inversion angle.

Can I do sit-ups on the Ironman Gravity 4000?

You can do crunches or sit-ups but only when fully inverted, or else you will just shift the balance point. However, this machine is not intended for that purpose. For your safety, stick to using it for inversion therapy.

Other Options

There is no doubt that the Ironman Gravity 4000 is a good inversion table for its price. However, you can choose to spend a few hundred dollars more to get advanced features.

The Teeter EP 970-Ltd has preset tether markings so you can easily adjust and control your inversion, a comfortable track bed that flexes with your movement, and Accupressure nodes that target specific points for muscle relief.

Ironman Gravity 4000: Conclusion

The Ironman Gravity 4000 is best for people who want to try inversion therapy but are not willing to shell out a lot of money.

This affordable inversion table has desirable features like a safe ankle locking system, flexible height settings, high weight capacity, and adjustable inversion angles.

You will definitely love the Ironman Gravity 4000.
